Intermarche, an important supermarket in France launched a major campaign against food waste. Called “Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables”, the company has decided to market these foods in a dedicated shelf area.
An estimated 40% of fruits and vegetables don’t fall within the canons of beauty imposed by the central purchasing. This campaign highlight that this operation deserves to be perpetuated (in all the supermarkets?). Soups and juices tasting made from those ugly fruits and vegetables take place in the stores… And to prove their good taste to customers!
The “out of the norms” vegetables are in the spotlight !
